BOATING THE GREAT LAKES OF MICHIGAN

Boating, skiing, sailing, paddle boating… the list is endless. You can do all on the Great Lakes surrounding the Upper Peninsula, Michigan. You can also travel hundreds of inlets and lakes. Launching sites in the Upper Peninsula are well equipped with services and activities.

SIGHT-SEEING IN THE UP

Isle Royale National Park. North of Copper Harbor on Mott Island is Isle Royale, National Park. Park offices are located on the island during warm seasons and in Houghton, Michigan off-season. Visit the island to see moose and gray wolf. Play in the waters of Lake Superior. Hike over 100 miles of wilderness.

Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. Pictured Rocks is one of the most picturesque places to visit. Waterfalls, cliffs, and sand dunes cover miles of shoreline. The shoreline and rocks change with the rising and setting of the sun – and the weather. Pictured Rocks has access for all ages.

Lighthouses of the Upper Peninsula, Michigan. The Upper Peninsula has over forty lighthouses. Many dating back to the 1800s. Activities include lighthouse tours and lighthouse lodging, You can even volunteer to be a lighthouse keeper.
